Video of the Day

Today’s video of the day comes from a trailer for the documentary 41st and Central that will air on television soon (quite possibly TV One). Go out and support real movies, authors and artists in general.

As always, love and support one another…take care of yourselves…and write!!

Looking for that ladder to success?

What is success? In other words, what does it mean to be successful?

Is it money…does having money (and I’m talking about lots of it, or just enough to put yourself at ease in terms of paying the bills and making sure your family eats with a roof over your heads) equate success?

Or is success mean getting up out of bed each day doing what you love and simply enjoying life, even when you’re at “work”.

For those of you that have found that balance I salute you. My hat goes off to all of you who have systematically followed their dreams, with shear determination and desire in the eyes, and never gave up when all hope was lost until you realized your destiny.

The media professional in me tells me to be creative and not to be afraid to showcase my talents. Keep blogging because I have important information that my audience wants to hear. Create discussions and share information.

The realist in me tells me that I need to focus on the present and not place so much time into my blog.

“>”little hater”
oftentimes works with the realist and tells me that I don’t have much to offer or “you’re not good enough to create a successful blog..”. I’m successful because I’m creating my own blog, without the help from anyone. It’s my ideas in my own little space on the world wide web.

If you merely follow your dreams, then you are taking the first steps towards your success in life. If your desire is strong enough to form your dreams into reality, then you will become blessed with success and everything that comes with it. Just stay focused, follow your plan (you do have one…don’t you) and never, ever give up.

As always, take care of yourself and one another…

Video of the Day – 2 Emcee’s that left their footprints in the game

I happened to come across this video while surfing the internet. Quite arguably to be 2 of the greatest MC’s to ever touch the microphone, Biggie and Tupac left us way too early…so I just felt like it had to be my “Video of the Day”.

Who knows what would have become of these two if they hadn’t met their fates. Only God knows the answer to that question but I’m sure that it would have been something tremendous.

The Blame Game

Let’s talk accountability. Are some people held fully responsible for their actions while others are exempt? If so, is this how things should operate?

Should ex-green jobs czar Van Jones be held accountable for his previous statements (those statements that he has since recanted)? Should we hold accountable our government or Wall Street for this “Great Reccesion”?

Should employees be held accountable for their words/actions in the workplace? What about his/her supervisor? Shouldn’t they be held responsible as well? What, if any, type of disciplinary action should that person endure if found guilty for not upholding to their part of the bargain?

Should a husband be held totally responsible for his infidelity if he wasn’t receiving what he felt entitled to from his wife?

In the end, every person should take responsibility for their own actions and not dig up excuses as a scapegoat in times of desperation. We were not placed on this planet to play the blame game when things don’t done and we have someone to answer to.

Please feel free to respond to my blog and, as always, take care of yourself and others.

Background check or Reality check

When you Google, Yahoo search, etc. your name (I believe that everyone should do this at least twice per year), what do you find? Are you pleased with your results?

Believe it or not, your future and/or former boss are probably doing this right now. So be careful about what type of information, compromising pictures, rants, etc. that you post to the Net because once it’s published, it’s here forever.
